In the past two and half years, Walker Lukens has released two EPs, an album, a 7 inch and played some 130 shows in four countries and 25 states. You probably didn’t know that because Walker was not always good at using the Internet.

Dustin Welch was born on a cold Winter Solstice in a haunted plantation house on the grounds of a Tennessee horse farm. His birth room was heated by a red-hot $80 tin stove that burned whatever deadwood trees his dad could drag out of the woods by tractor and chains.

The Receiver is made up of brothers Casey (keyboards, bass, vocals) and Jesse Cooper (drums, vocals). Formed in 2005, the brothers quickly expanded on ideas composed the previous year by Casey for his senior thesis in music composition studies at The Ohio State University.

With Speed of Darkness, the band went into unchartered territory. The album was recorded at Echo Mountain Recording Studio, which is housed in a converted church in Asheville, North Carolina.
